Implications for Junior Members

  • At present, King's students are worried about the rent increase proposals as they face financial uncertainty about their future here. This particularly affects those who are in their first year now and intend to study for four years, or even to progress to PhD study.
  • It is important to let the students of the College know about future rent policy in order that they might be able to budget sensibly.
  • The graduate community in King's is already due to be hit by a reduction in availability of College rooms. To increase rents on College rooms would serve to inconvenience further a part of the college community who tend to be the poorest.
